Danish fund sells Southcrest Hotel in Worcestershire

EjendomsInvest, the private Danish fund, has sold the former Stop Inn Southcrest Hotel in Redditch, Worcestershire, to Southcrest Manor for more than £1.2m.

The 73-bedroom hotel, which was formerly operated by the Real Hotel Company, is set in approximately 6.5 acres of woodlands and landscaped gardens.

The property features a 60-cover restaurant, 40-cover bar area, three conference and banqueting rooms, and a 75-space car park.

Southcrest Manor plans to refurbish the hotel and increase its events trade.

Real Hotel Company went into administration last January. It operated more than 50 hotels across Britain and continental Europe, along with the New Connaught Rooms conference centre in London.

Gavin Wright, director at Christie + Co, which advised EjendomsInvest, said: “The Southcrest Hotel is a well known hotel within Redditch and the new owners are planning a total refurbishment of the property.

“The hotel generated a lot of interest while on the market and a number of offers were received following a best and final process.”
