Toy retailer Hamleys and fashion chain H&M will today launch the opening of the £100m extension at Ivanhoe Cambridge’s St Enoch shopping centre, in Glasgow.
A raft of other retailers including Henleys, Pulp, Wheels of Sport, Jessica Boo, who are all new to Glasgow, plus Costa Coffee, will also open today.
Swatch, Folli Follie and Lambretta have also recently signed up to take space at the scheme, which now totals 765,000 sq ft including the 250,000 sq ft extension.
It is currently 92% let, and remaining shops are being marketed by Cushman & Wakefield.
It is Hamleys second UK store and totals 30,000 sq ft and the 32,000 sq ft H&M is one of the largest in Scotland.
The development will create a new entrance onto the corner of Buchanan Street and Argyle Street beneath a triple-height glass fascia.
Ivanhoe Cambridge vice president of leasing for Europe, Richard Kingston, said: “We’re delighted that the extension to St Enoch has attracted so many new, exciting retailers to Glasgow.
“It’s a superb retail city and we feel that the work we have done to extend and refurbish St Enoch builds on the fantastic offer already here.
“In times as hard as these, leasing new space is always a challenge but the strength of St. Enoch and Glasgow has shone through – a fact that has been reinforced by Hamleys’ decision to open its second UK store in the scheme.”
