H&M moves into former Zavvi store in Birmingham

UBS Global Asset Management has let the former Zavvi at Pavilions shopping centre in Birmingham to fashion retailer H&M.

H&M has agreed a new 15-year lease on the store, which is arranged over four floors and totals 22,497 sq ft.

The shop is due to open in autumn 2010.

Mike Knowles, associate director at Savills, said: “H&M is a well established fashion brand that will be a great draw for the Pavilions.

“The new store is located at the entrance of the centre and will therefore be a superb footfall driver.”

“The Pavilions is rapidly reinstating itself as a prime retail destination in Birmingham’s core.

“We have worked very hard to create a tenant mix that will both augment the scheme and also complement the existing retail offers in the city.”

Other tenants in the centre include Hobbs, L’Occitane, Aspecto, LK Bennett, Laura Ashley and Azendi.

Savills and Kitchen La Frenais Morgan advised UBS Global Asset Management.
