The leader of Cheshire West & Chester council, Mike Jones, has unveiled plans to raise £200m over the next decade by auctioning off surplus council-owned property assets.
The assets include 500 acres of farmland and 32 retail units.
The council is due to consult upon the proposal this summer, before a definite decision is made about whether to proceed with the sell-off.
Jones said that the revenues raised would go towards road repairs and improvements to the borough’s sports facilities.
