TfL makes changes to congestion-charge zone

Transport for London (TfL) plans to increase the central London congestion charging zone by £2 for £10 while at the same time abolishing charging in the west London extension.

Removal of the extension, where fees were introduced in February 2007, is expected to reduce TfL’s annual revenue by £55m.

Both measures have gone out to consultation. December 24 is likely to be the last day of charging in the western extension zone. The higher charge for the main zone is likely to come in on January 4.
