Highgrove Enterprises opens first high street store

Highgrove Enterprises, which manages His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales’ Highgrove estate, has opened its first high street store at 38 Milsom Street, Bath.

Highgrove Enterprises has taken an underlease from Lloyds TSB of the basement and ground floor of the shop, totalling 2,100 sq ft, at an undisclosed rent. The building is owned by Temple Ecclesiastical in Bristol.

The shop, which will trade as Highgrove, is located immediately opposite the ‘Jolly’s’ House of Fraser store in the city.

All profits generated from the Highgrove Shop – which offers a range of branded food, lifestyle and garden products that take their inspiration from the gardens at Highgrove – will be donated to the Prince’s Charities Foundation.

Mike McElhinney of King Sturge, which advised Highgrove Enterprises, said: “The Bath retail market has shown itself to be highly resilient to the recession and Milsom Street, in particular, recently voted by users of Google as the top fashion street in the UK, will benefit substantially from this incredibly powerful additional attraction, which will substantially increase footfall and be of great interest to tourists visiting the city”.

King Sturge also advised Temple Ecclesiastical; Jones Lang LaSalle acted for Lloyds TSB.
