He succeeded Peter Pereira Gray, managing director Investment Division at The Wellcome Trust, at the company’s annual meeting.
Gellatly, who takes on the role for the next 12 months, said: “My priority will be to demonstrate the strength and value of the IPF to a wider audience than ever before.
“It is vital that we continue to develop our membership base amongst younger industry practitioners and expand it further in the banking and capital markets space, which is playing an increasingly important role in the financing and structuring of real estate after the crisis.
“The IPF’s growing relationship with government departments will also be central to our focus in the next year.”
At the AGM the following additional board appointments were also appointed:

Fiona Morton of Ryden, Mark Titcomb of DekaBank and Ian Womack of Aviva Investors retired from the Board at the meeting.
