Just over half sell at Network sale

Network Auctions’ 15 September sale raised £1.4m as 11 out of 20 properties sold.

Transactions at the sale, held at Hatfield House in Hertfordshire, suffered from the continuing squeeze on lending, according to auctioneer Guy Charrison. He said: “A lot of the money being spent at auction is coming from people’s own reserves. Smaller lot sizes are popular as a result.”

Lots that sold well included a fire-damaged pub in Peckham, SE15. It was guided at £50,000 and sold for £187,500 after the vendor declined an offer prior of £110,000.

A terraced house, in Hertford, Hertfordshire, which has been converted into offices, sold for its guide price of £180,000, while a flat in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, sold for its guide price of £43,000.

All the lots on offer were located in London and the Home Counties.
