Just over half the lots on offer sold at Eddisons’ sales this month.
A total of 116 residential and commercial lots were offered at the auctions, held at Leeds’ Elland Road stadium, and Manchester’s Fairways Lodge & Leisure Club, on 16 and 21 September.
Sixty-six lots sold, reflecting a 57% success rate and raising £4.2m.
Top performers at the Manchester sale included a part-vacant, freehold residential investment property in Liverpool. Consisting of six two-bedroom flats in a purpose-built block and producing £25,560 pa, it sold for £312,000 off a guide of £200,000-plus.
Auctioneer Tony Webber said: “It stands to provide a return of over 10% and looks like a shrewd investment.”
Other highlights included the 24-bedroom New Douglas Hotel in Blackpool, Lancashire, which sold for £136,000 off a guide of £125,000-plus.
At the Leeds sale, a part Grade II-listed shop in Huddersfield, producing £37,140 pa and guided at £280,000-plus, sold for £240,000, a yield of 15%.
