John Whittaker’s Peel Group has today submitted the largest-ever single planning application in the UK for the 14m-sq ft redevelopment of part of Liverpool Docks.
To be known as Liverpool Waters, the scheme will comprise offices, retail, 9,000 homes, a cruise terminal and cultural facilities.
The Liverpool Waters site is located across the River Mersey from the proposed site for Peel’s Wirral Waters. Together the two schemes are known as the Peel Waters project.
At 30m sq ft, Peel Waters is the largest regeneration project of its kind in the UK and will feature the 55-storey Shanghai Tower, which on completion will be the tallest building in the UK outside London.
