Supermarket chain Asda is to open a new store as part of the redevelopment of the Harworth colliery in Nottinghamshire.
The proposals are for a 13,000sq ft supermarket on Scrooby Road as well as car parking spaces, cycling parking spaces and additional recycling facilities for the town.
Avnish Raichura, Asda property communications manager, said: “Asda will work in partnership with the council and undertake extensive public consultation, involving local residents and businesses. The Scrooby Road location means the store will help attract shoppers back to Harworth and will bring a much-needed boost to the local economy.”
