Highbridge Properties has been given planning consent for a 36,150 sq ft speculative data centre in North Tyneside.
The centre, called DC2, on the Cobalt Business Park, will include four separate data halls, two at 10,330 sq ft and two at 7,750 sq ft.
Construction of the development is expected to begin in spring. It will sit alongside Highbridge’s 45,850 sq ft data centre, DC1.
Highbridge chief executive Guy Marsden said: “DC2 is an important part of Highbridge’s ongoing commitment to establish a world-class data centre campus at Cobalt.
“Cobalt Park is the UK’s largest office park and is home to world-class occupiers.”
CB Richard Ellis is advising Highbridge.
