Pizza Express is to open its 10th restaurant in the City, at 5 Fenchurch Place, EC3.
It has taken a 25-year lease on a restaurant formerly occupied by IL Locale, which comprises a 1,400 sq ft ground floor, a 1,400 sq ft mezzanine level and a 1,600 sq ft basement.
The rent is understood to be close to £100,000 pa.
Restaurant Property director Jason Grant, who advised Pizza Express, said: “Pizza Express was the first of the larger operators to divine the changing dynamics that have made the Square Mile a much more attractive place for restaurants at a similar price point.
“They have led the way in creating a much more welcoming and inclusive City, which is now serving the dining needs of a much wider proportion of its workers, visitors and residents.”
