Hercules Unit Trust, the retail warehouse fund advised by British Land and managed by Schroders, has agreed 10 lettings across its shopping parks at Inverness and Rotherham, South Yorkshire.
Five brands are to open at Inverness shopping park, taking a total of 39,800 sq ft. New Look has opened a 12,000 sq ft flagship store, JD/Bank is opening an 8,500 sq ft shop, Carphone Warehouse has taken 2,500 sq ft, and Costa 1,500 sq ft. In addition, Comet has reconfigured its store to create a 15,300 sq ft unit.
John Maddison, asset manager at British Land, said: “The breadth of the new brands at Inverness shopping park, ranging from fashion to technology to coffee, provides additional reasons to visit this thriving retail destination.”
A further five lettings have been agreed at Parkgate in Rotherham. The total letting of 146,500 sq ft is a combination of a 47,000 sq ft Best Buy shop, a 5,000 sq ft Maplin store and a 53,000 sq ft Currys and PC World megastore. Asda Living and Frankie & Benny’s have also agreed to take 38,000 sq ft and 3,500 sq ft shops respectively.
Keith Wilson, head of Asda Living acquisitions, said: “We feel Parkgate shopping park will provide an ideal location for the Asda Living format. We are sure that our extensive range of homewares, electricals, books, toys and, of course, the George clothing range, will be well received by shoppers. The Asda foodstore in Aldwarke Lane, Rotherham, has become an integral part of the local community.”
