Tchenguiz yacht party goes ahead without host

The party aboard Vincent Tchenguiz’ yacht moored at Cannes went ahead but its owner was not among the celebrants following his arrest, and subsequent release without charge on police bail, along with his brother, Robert, in connection with a UK probe into the collapse of Kaupthing.

Many in Cannes saw the fact the party went ahead aboard Veni, Vidi, Vici as a statement by Vincent Tchenguiz that it was business as usual for his Consensus Business Group. Tim Smalley, a senior employee of R20 was also among the other people arrested, it emerged. The Financial Times says no one answered the phones at R20 and Smalley could not be reached for comment. The Daily Telegraph reports investigators sifted through documents in Vincent’s Mayfair offices for a second day.
