William Pears Group has promoted Jonathan Rose to group managing director.
Rose, 37, joined the group in 2009 as property director and has been instrumental in securing almost £400m of assets in the UK for Pears, including the £140m acquisition of the Notting Hill Estate, W11, in partnership with LaSalle Investment Management.
Chief executive Mark Pears said: “Since he joined the company two years ago, we have been delighted with Jonathan’s contribution.”
Rose added: “We have been involved in several interesting transactions over the past two years and I and the team look forward to adding further value to Pears in this exciting market.”
Rose joined Pears – one of the largest privately owned property companies in the UK – from ASDA Properties, where he was the “right-hand man” to veteran investor Manny Davidson.
He joined Pears with the aim of taking advantage of the distressed market and building up a strong portfolio for the group, initially with a strong focus on retail property.
In his new role, Rose intends to do more and bigger corporate deals and transactions directly with the banks. He said that Pears was also talking to corporates and private individuals about providing equity to kick-start various projects.
William Pears, with the Pears Family Trusts, owns more than £6bn of properties and investments. The 100% family-owned firm was formed in 1952 by Bernard Pears and his son Clive.
