Kenyan investor buys Barclays’ Liverpool call centre

Kenya-based Sameer Group has bought a Barclays call centre in the Wavertree district of Liverpool from Mountgrange for £10.45m, reflecting a net yield of 7.75%.

The 94,000 sq ft office has 12 years remaining on its lease and is home to Barclays’ personal telephone banking and Barclaycard operations, and more than 1,200 employees. The bank has occupied the premises since 1988.

CB Richard Ellis advised Sameer Group; King Sturge acted for Mountgrange.
