Oxford leads Green Park pack

Green Park, Reading 350p

Oxford Properties has emerged as the preferred bidder to buy PRUPIM’s 2.2m sq ft Green Park office campus near Reading.

The Canadian pension giant is reported to have offered around £415m for the 180-acre park which was on the market for £400m.

But a source said it was still not a done deal. He said: “It’s a complicated process due to the size of the site. It certainly wont be concluded within the next week.”

Two-thirds of the 2.2m sq ft of office space have been built, with one third still under construction.

Others thought to have been bidding include Orion, Moorfield, Delancey, Goodman, MSREF and Blackstone.

US IT firm Cisco is one of the main tenants in the park with others including HSBC Logica and Symantec. CBRE is advising Prupim on the sale.

All parties declined to comment.
