Cartier-Bresson joins BerlinHyp

BerlinHyp and Landesbank Berlin has appointed Benjamin Cartier-Bresson as head of its Paris office. Cartier-Bresson previously worked at Deka Bank. He has also worked for Archon Group France, Royal Bank of Scotland and Credit Suisse.

Knight Frank promotes PRieto

Knight Frank’s partner Alberto Prieto has replaced Frédéric Mangeant as director general for Spain. Mangeant is stepping down after leading Knight Frank’s business in Madrid for more than 20 years. Prieto, who joined Knight Frank in 1995, became one of the firm’s 60 owners in 2008. He is a member of the European advisory board and the only owner in Spain.

Retail post for LÖblein

Frank Löblein has been appointed head of retail investment at BNP Paribas Real Estate in Germany. He joins from Commerz Real, where he headed the property investments team, and was responsible for buying retail assets in Germany and northern Europe. BNP Paribas Real Estate said that Löblin will expand the firm’s retail investment business. At the same time, BNP PRE Germany lost one of its star brokers, Jan Stadelmann, to DTZ. His departure follows that of Javier Gomez, who last month left BNP Paribas Real Estate to join asset manager Stam Europe’s German office. Gomez, an investment director, had been with BNP Paribas Real Estate’s Frankfurt office for five years. Earlier, Mischa Koch left BNP Paribas Real Estate to work for Savills.

Meyer Bergman appoints Moran

Meyer Bergman has appointed Renee Moran as asset manager in order to expand and strengthen its shopping centre asset management team. Moran joins from Hammerson, where she held the role of asset manager for the past five years and was responsible for a large number of shopping centres within its portfolio, including Brent Cross and Highcross, Leicester. Prior to this, she worked at CBRE, where she was involved in managing several shopping centres on behalf of clients such as Network Rail and Grosvenor.

Nicholas joins JLL Hotels

Jones Lang LaSalle Hotels has appointed George Nicholas as executive vice president in its hotels/capital markets team for the UK and Northern Europe. Nicholas joins from CBRE where he was a director in the firm’s hotels team and he was also previously a director at Colliers International.

Weissink joins Corio

Corio has appointed Jan Willem Weissink as chief executive of the company’s Dutch operations. He will part of the management team. Weissink previously worked at Dutch retailer Ahold, where he was senior vice president of Ahold Real Estate & Construction.

Van der Goes leaves IVG

Hugo van der Goes has left IVG, where he was director of investment Europe. His departure comes as the German property company concentrates its European operations in Frankfurt.

CarbonniÈres joins Deutsche Hypo

Anne-Isabelle Carbonnières has been appointed head of Deutsche Hypo in Paris. She took over from Lionel Cavin, who retired. Before joining Deutsche Hypo, she worked for German bank DG Hyp, which is shutting all its foreign lending activities. She also worked at WestImmo.

Corestate appoints LÜder

Corestate has hired Marco Lüder as director of commercial asset management in Frankfurt. Lüder joins from Inovalis, where he was head of asset management. The Swiss-based private equity firm also hired Julien Abello as an associate. He joins from JER Partners, where he was an analyst. Based in London, he will focus on acquisitions in Europe.

Duo create Nordika

Two former Lehman Brother Real Estate Partners partners have teamed up to create a new property company. Jonas Grandér, who previously also worked for Doughty Hanson & Co Real Estate Fund, and Gabriel Cronsted, have founded Nordika, which, in partnership with Ericsson’s pension fund, will focus on buying assets in Sweden, Denmark and Finland requiring active asset management.

Savills appoints Sobrino

Savills has appointed Ignacio Sobrino as its new head of business development in its office department in Madrid. Sobrino, who joined Savills from Spanish property company Tasinsa, where he served as director, previously worked for Jones Lang LaSalle and DTZ Ibérica.

Niesslein to leave IVG

IVG’s chief executive, Gerhard Niesslein, will step down when his contract expires in October. He informed the supervisory board that he will not renew the contract, citing personal reasons. Niesslein will be succeeded by Wolfgang Schäfers, who is currently chief financial officer. Schäfers extended his contract by three years to 31 December 2014. Niesslein became CEO of IVG in 2008, joining from Strabag.

C&W appoints pair

Cushman & Wakefield has appointed Karolína Matoušková and Edward Thomas to its Prague office. Matoušková, who has worked for the Property Advisory Group and Jones Lang LaSalle, will cover the Czech and Slovak markets. Thomas is transferring from Cushman & Wakefield’s valuation office and will work in the capital markets team.

Concejo Bontemps joins UNion

Union Investment has appointed Tania Concejo Bontemps as a general manager in its Paris office. Bontemps joined last month from Renta Corporacion and will work with Dominique Dudan, president of the company’s French management board.
