DJD and JLL win £600m airport job

MAG Airport City

Drivers Jonas Deloitte and Jones Lang LaSalle have been appointed consultants on the £600m Airport City in Manchester.

MAG Developments, the property arm of the Manchester Airports Group, has announced that DJD and JLL will lead on the planning and commercial delivery of the masterplan project.

Work on Airport City, which has been selected as one of the government’s 21 designated Enterprise Zones, is due to start in 2012.

MAG said that design work is underway and occupier enquiries are already being received. Infrastructure works will commence in 2012.

Simon Bedford, head of the economic development team at DJD, said: “The Enterprise Zone designation will, we believe, accelerate the development programme and begin the transformation of the Airport City site.”

Bob Dyson, chairman of JLL North West, added: “Airport City can evolve into an integrated business district in it own right, providing a comprehensive range of commercial facilities, services and revenue streams.”
