Developer Quintain has completed 19,000 sq ft of restaurant lettings at its London Designer Outlet in Wembley.
Frankie & Benny’s, handmade burger Co, TGI Friday’s and Jimmy Spice’s have all signed up to the 280,000 sq ft centre. Quintain is also in advanced negotiations with a further four food and beverage retailers.
As revealed by Estates Gazette, GAP has signed for an 8,100 sq ft shop, and Quintain is also in advanced discussions with Marks & Spencer and another multiple retailer for two major stores.
Work on site will start in autumn 2011. The nine-screen Cineworld cinema, which has already signed a 25-year lease, is scheduled for completion in 2013 – alongside the retail brands and restaurants.
Phil Cottingham, managing director of retail at Quintain, said: “We have intentionally targeted leisure operators in the first phase of the lettings strategy as part of our overall aim to deliver a mixed-use retail, restaurant and entertainment lifestyle destination.”
“We are now focused on securing our retail anchors – many of which are at an advanced stage of negotiation. We will then be targeting aspirational designer brands, as well as the emerging fashion and lifestyle labels looking to take their first step into the designer outlet sector.”
CBRE and Bruce Gillingham Pollard are advising Quintain; Wareing and Partners acted for The Restaurant Group; and Burley Browne acted for handmade burger Co.
