BL gets Hobbycraft double

Craft retailer Hobbycraft is to open new stores at two British Land-owned schemes.

Hobbycraft is to open a 14,700 sq ft store, including a 5,700 sq ft mezzanine level, at Nugent shopping park in Orpington, Kent. It is also opening 7,300 sq ft with a 4,500 sq ft mezzanine at the Beehive Centre in Cambridge this autumn.

Bridgepoint Capital, which bought Hobbycraft last year, believes the number of Hobbycraft stores can be doubled to nearly 100 in the medium term.

Wilkinson Williams and Harvey Spackfield acted on behalf of British Land; HobbyCraft represented itself.
