US fashion label kate spade new york is to open its European flagship store near Sloane Square, SW3.
Kate spade new york has agreed to lease a 4,000 sq ft store from the Cadogan Estate for 10 years. It will open in September.
The New York fashion label, which was established in 1993, is currently distributed in more than 400 stores worldwide, including 36 stores in the US. It made its UK debut last October with a Covent Garden pop-up store.
Kate spade new york’s new shop is part of a redevelopment of the former General Trading Company building. The store is situated on the corner of Symons Street and Pavilion Road and is located close to high-end retailers Tiffany, Links of London, Hugo Boss, and Cartier.
The Cadogan Estate will introduce further shops to the area in late-2011, including a 7,000 sq ft flagship store on Kings Road and a 4,000 sq ft store on Sloane Square.
Edward Humbert, senior director at CB Richard Ellis, which advises the Cadogan Estate, said: “‘kate spade new york’ is among the leading women’s fashion brands in the US and is a favourite with A-list celebrities. The flagship store fits perfectly with the exciting plans for both Kings Road and Sloane Square and the Estate is now in an even stronger position to attract further leading international fashion brands to the area.”
