Henderson Global Investors, on behalf of its £1.1bn UK Retail Warehouse Fund, has agreed a series of lettings at Manchester Fort shopping centre.
Marks and Spencer will launch a Simply Food within an 18,000 sq ft shop at the Lancashire scheme. It is expected to launch in the autumn. Clinton Cards, the national greetings card and gift retailer, has taken a 3,800 sq ft store and footwear retailer ShoeZone will take 2,600 sq ft of space. Both stores will open in July.
The headline rents range from £19 per sq ft to £35.30 per sq ft and the lease lengths range from 10 to 15 years.
The new tenants will join existing stores including Next, Asda Living, Boots, B&Q and Outfit.
Michael Neal, fund manager for the Henderson UK Retail Warehouse Fund, said: “Manchester Fort provides an ideal location for each of the new retailers where they will benefit from the strong footfall and calibre of existing tenants.”
Wilkinson Williams and Morgan Williams acted for Henderson.
