French lingerie brand Aubade is to open its first UK stand-alone store in London.
Aubade has taken a 10-year lease with the landlord Stowe on a 400 sq ft store at 4 South Molton Street, W1. The shop, which will feature lingerie, swimwear and accessories, will open in the autumn.
Aubade was founded in 1875 in France when its founder, Dr Bernard, created a girdle and corset-making company. It has since established itself as a luxury lingerie brand. The first store opened in France in 2006.
Duncan Gilliard, senior surveyor at Cushman & Wakefield, which advised Aubade, said: “Aubade is a very strong brand which is expanding internationally and has just opened its first store in Copenhagen. As well as South Molton Street, the retailer plans to open in other high-end central London areas.”
