SCOT Sheridan and MEPC have signed deals to invest £14m in industrial space at Clyde Gateway East business park in Glasgow. Three units totalling 60,000 sq ft will be speculatively built by SCOT Sheridan and funded by MEPC. A further 140,000 sq ft will be built by MEPC, initially on a design-and-build basis, with SCOT Sheridan as development partner. The 34-acre business park site, which can accommodate up to 400,000 sq ft, sits close to junction 2a of the £692m M74 motorway extension and was purchased by Clyde Gateway regeneration company in March 2009. Last month, MEPC completed the purchase of 8 acres at Clyde Gateway East. SCOT Sheridan and MEPC have submitted a planning application with a start on site anticipated for September and completion in April next year. MEPC chief executive Rick de Blaby said: “It’s an important strategic acquisition for us, where we hope to replicate and deliver a modern Hillington Park. The infrastructure that Clyde Gateway has committed to this area of Glasgow is enormous and we are happy to invest alongside that.” SCOT Sheridan director David MacLachlan said: “The fact that we are building on a speculative basis shows our strong belief that the site has the potential to attract leading businesses and hundreds of jobs and will play a significant role in the regeneration of the area.” stacey.meadwell@estatesgazette.com To access all EGi
