Manor proposes £52m Sheffield student village

Manor Property Group has submitted plans for a £52m student village in Sheffield, with 880 apartments.

The proposed £52m development, Manor Mill, will be made up of five blocks, each ranging from five to ten storeys. It also features three restaurants, a launderette and a gym.

Situated at the intersection of Napier Street and Summerfield Street, the facility is near the Ecclesall Road, and would serve students at the University of Sheffield and Sheffield Hallam University.

If planning permission is approved, Manor Property Group expects the village to be open by September 2013.

A spokesman for the East Yorkshire-based developer said: “There is a significant demand in Sheffield for high-quality, contemporary and conveniently located student accommodation, particularly in the Ecclesall Road area.”
