Birmingham City University has appointed Willmott Dixon as contractor for its new £61m, 197,087 sq ft art and design building.
The five-storey structure, featuring TV, radio and photographic studios, will be located near Cardigan Street in Eastside.
Construction will begin this autumn, and the building will be ready for occupation by September 2013.
