Mixed-use scheme for Acocks Green

Acocks Green

Shaftmoor Properties Partnership is planning a £60m mixed-use development across 20 acres in Acocks Green, Birmingham.

Care homes operator ExtraCare will take 6 acres for a 278-home retirement village, Morrisons will take 6 acres for a 35,926 sq ft store, petrol station and car park, and developer CKC will take 8 acres for 120 residential homes and a 4,300 sq ft nursery.

Shaftmoor will submit proposals for its Shaftmoor Lane site to Birmingham city council in September, with a decision expected by December.

The project will be phased, with Morrisons opening in 2012, the retirement village in 2014, and the residential homes completing in 2015.
