Another student block is planned for Ecclesall Road in Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
MAF Properties’ plans for a 8,934 sq ft student halls block, with two ground floor retail units, have been approved by Sheffield city council.
The Devonshire Hall building, which will house 59 students, will be built on the grounds of a former pub, the Devonshire Arms.
Located on Ecclesall Road, the facility is just 300m away from a £52m proposed student village called Manor Mill, plans for which were recently submitted by Manor Property Group.
MAF Properties expects Devonshire Hall to be complete by the end of 2012. It would not give a value of the development.
