Manchester-based property company Whispers Developments has gone into administration.
The firm was behind long-awaited plans for the redevelopment of Oldham’s Royton Assembly Hall, which it bought in 2003 and had planned to redevelop as a restaurant and wedding venue. Oldham council leader Jim McMahon recently labelled the site “a blight on the community” due to the lack of progress with the project.
Begbies Traynor has been appointed as administrator.
