Richard Akers, president of the BCSC and head of retail at Land Securities, this morning confirmed that he would be meeting with Queen of Shops Mary Portas next week.
The BCSC and Portas are scheduled to meet on 6 October.
In his opening address to the conference, Akers told delegates that the organisation was meeting Portas, who has been appointed by the government to look at the future of UK’s high streets, to contribute to her review.
Portas has previously said that she planned to hold discussions with key landlord and tenant bodies to inform her review so that, together, they can create “healthy and diverse high streets”.
