Hawley Wharf refurbishment plans unveiled

A proposal for the redevelopment of Hawley Wharf in Camden, NW1, which was partly destroyed by a fire, has been submitted.

Plans for a mixed-use development of the 4.6 acres bounded by Chalk Farm Road, Kentish Town Road and Regents Canal NW1 include the creation of eight buildings of between three and nine storeys each.

The buildings would include flats, retail space, offices and a cinema. They would replace almost all properties on the site.

Part of Hawley Wharf, which houses Camden Town’s famous market, was destroyed in a 2008 blaze.

Stanley Sidings’ application was registered today. A public consultation is expected to be completed by the end of the year, before Camden council moves forward with the application.
