Auction House Cumbria held its first two-centre auction on 6 and 7 October.
The sales, at Carlisle racecourse and Ulverston’s Coronation Hall raised a total of £2.7m after 32 of 44 commercial and residential properties sold. This reflected a 73% success rate.
Auctioneer Colin West said: ”A prominent former YWCA building on the harbourside in Whitehaven sold for £186,000, almost double its guide. There was intense interest for the property, which was recognised for its potential in an area that has undergone substantial redevelopment.”
