Exeter City FC seeks partner

Exeter City Football Club is seeking a development partner to redevelop its stadium.

Plans for St James Park include increasing its capacity from 8,830 to 11,250, office accommodation, a gym and training facilities.

The project will be funded by a new student housing complex and by redeveloping a car park adjacent to the site.

The League One division club intends to begin work on the scheme at the end of the 2012-13 season.

Club chairman Edward Chorlton said: “It may seem a long time to some, but we still have a lot to do to get this scheme to the starting blocks. We are in difficult financial times and so selecting the right joint venture partner is essential.”

Jones Lang LaSalle is advising Exeter FC.
