Green light for £100m East Putney redevelopment

Plans to redevelop offices into a £100m mixed-use scheme opposite East Putney tube station, SW15, have been given the green light.

Four buildings, ranging from five to 11 storeys will be built, replacing existing offices at 84-88 Upper Richmond Road.

The new buildings will comprise 148 flats, 13,078 sq ft of offices and 6,458 sq ft for shops and restaurants.

Developer Orchid Putney secured planning permission from Wandsworth council, on the condition that it will contribute more than £1m towards local infrastructure upgrades.

The council’s planning chairman, Nick Cuff said: “This tired, empty office complex is the first thing people see when they step out of East Putney station. The new development would be a vast improvement and offers a much better first impression of the town centre.”

Drivers Jonas Deloitte advised the developer on the planning.
