English Cities Fund looks set to sign its first occupier at its 109,000 sq ft No 4 St Paul’s Square scheme in Liverpool, with Spanish bank Santander in talks to take 14,000 sq ft of offices.
ECF, a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal & General and the Homes and Communities Agency, completed the speculative building during the summer. It was built with the help of £4.2m from the Northwest Regional Development Agency and £4.6m from the European Regional Development Fund.
Santander has offices in Bootle, Merseyside and Bruntwood’s The Plaza scheme, which is located close to No 4 St Paul’s Square. The bank is considering taking the top floor of ECF’s scheme.
English Cities Fund director Darran Lawless said: “We can confirm that Santander is interested in taking space at No 4 St Paul’s Square. We are in detailed negotiations and will be able to announce further details shortly.”
GVA and CB Richard Ellis are agents for the scheme.
