A south London property management company has been fined following an investigation by Wandsworth council into improper conduct.
Wimbledon-based Spudnic was taken to Kingston crown court by the council, accused of “a prolonged campaign of dirty tricks” to get tenants out of a five-bedroom building in Roehampton.
The court heard the firm used methods including turning off the water and electricity supplies, sealing up the letterbox and sending quasi-legal eviction notices.
Councillor Paul Ellis said: “Landlords and their agents should not be under any illusion. We will simply not tolerate them bullying their tenants in this way.”
Spudnic was ordered to pay £20,561 in fines and prosecution costs.
