Wetherell in anti-parking charges drive

West End businesses are getting behind Mayfair-based agent Wetherell’s campaign to stop proposed parking charges.

Peter Wetherell, managing director of Wetherell, has collected 1,966 signatures opposing Westminster parking charges due to be implemented in January 2012. The names contribute to 15,600 signatures collected by several West End businesses.

Landlords and retailers have claimed the looming weekend charges introduced by Westminster city council will result in less turnover. The Howard de Walden Estate said the charges could reduce trade and ultimately lose it tenants on Marylebone High Street.
