The Higher Broughton Partnership is submitting a planning application for 80 new homes in Greater Manchester.
The application for three-, four- and five-bedroom properties includes around 25 homes funded and managed by a locally represented housing association.
The partnership has appointed Countryside Properties to develop the houses across the six-acre site, which forms the next major residential phase of the wider Higher Broughton Partnership regeneration initiative.
It follows the partnership’s £9m deal to boost health and retail services in Higher Broughton.
The phased regeneration strategy has already resulted in 250 houses, a community hub and a school refurbishment.
Graeme Hogg, director of Sigma Inpartnership, said: “It is particularly encouraging that we are building this kind of momentum in the worst of economic times, which is testament to the partnership and our approach to regeneration.”
Peter Vella, regional sales and marketing director for Countryside Properties, said: “Countryside Properties is currently working on its flagship development in Lower Broughton, New Broughton Village, and we fully intend to utilise our extensive experience in building homes to complement the wider regeneration in Higher Broughton and add to the great work already done by the Higher Broughton Partnership.”
