Villandry sails into Trafalgar

The Crown Estate has secured Philippe Le Roux’s Villandry as one of the restaurant anchors for its regeneration of St James’s, SW1. The restaurant chain has taken 8,000 sq ft in Trafalgar House, a Grade II listed building in Waterloo Place, for its London flagship.

The Crown is undertaking a £5m refurbishment of the 36,000 sq ft Trafalgar House.

The Villandry letting forms part of the Crown’s £500m investment strategy for St James’s. It wants to turn the area into a “stimulating and eclectic shopping and dining destination”. The restaurant is set to open in summer 2013. Davis Coffer Lyons and Nash Bond advised the Crown.
