PRUPIM has got the go-ahead from Westminster city council to transform its 52,000 sq ft office block at 30 Berkeley Square, W1.
Tenant GE Capital’s staff will leave the building over the first quarter of 2012, after which PRUPIM will re-model the property. GE Capital has been paying £100 per sq ft there since 2007.
PRUPIM has secured planning permission for several changes to the property, including expanding office space on floors six and seven and making space for retailers on the ground floor.
David Morris, director of development at PRUPIM, said: “Extensive remodelling of the building and the new designs by Aukett Fitzroy Robinson will yield two stunning penthouse floors with terraces that will provide unrivalled outlooks over Berkeley Square.”
He added: “The scheme will also deliver a range of sustainability improvements which will ensure that it continues to provide a benchmark for prime-plus quality in the Mayfair office market.”
H2SO has been appointed as letting agent for the building, which will be available from summer 2013.
