Royal Bank of Scotland has sold 6.8 acres of land in Kegworth, Leicestershire, to housebuilder, Persimmon Homes.
The land is thought to have been bought for around £2.5m. It was acquired on an unconditional basis with outline planning permission for up to 104 homes.
Persimmon Homes is planning to build 86 properties on the site, 30% of which will be affordable homes.
Iain McArthur, associate director at DTZ, which advised RBS, said: “Although the region’s housing market has been badly affected by the economic downturn, this unconditional sale demonstrates that there is still a strong appetite from the house builders to purchase sites on both an unconditional and conditional basis providing the location is right.”
