BAE Systems’ Detica has signed the biggest deal seen in Guildford, Surrey, in five years.
The data firm has agreed a 15-year lease for 60,000 sq ft at Blackrock’s 170 Priestley Road, Surrey research park.
It will pay £24 per sq ft, and a capital contribution from the landlord will convert the property into grade-A offices.
Coinciding with the deal, Detica has also secured a regear with the University of Surrey on units at the same business park totalling 52,000 sq ft.
Lambert Smith Hampton and Strutt & Parker advised Blackrock. Strutt & Parker also represented the university, and Detica acted for itself in both deals.
The leasing is understood to be the be the biggest in Guilford, since Electronic Arts took 90,000 sq ft at Onslow House in 2006.
