Pramerica appoints Amabile
Investment manager Pramerica Real Estate Investors has hired Raimondo Amabile as a managing director and member of its European executive committee. Amabile joined Pramerica from Tishman Speyer, where he served as managing director and headed the firm’s European business development. He was previously a founding partner at asset manager Realty Partners in Italy and a vice president in Morgan Stanley’s Real Estate Investing Group, as well as a senior associate with GE Capital Real Estate’s European acquisitions team.
New post for CBRE’s Hay…
CBRE has appointed Andy Hay to the new role of managing director of property and asset management for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Richard Williams has been named as the company’s UK managing director of property and asset management. Hay, based in London, will be responsible for developing CBRE’s cross-border asset management services, focusing on clients and opportunities across the EMEA region. The senior appointments reflect the recent growth of this part of CBRE’s business and anticipated future demand for these services across the region, said the firm.
…as Atwell heads to CEE…
CBRE has also appointed Michael Atwell as head of capital markets for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). Atwell (pictured) was previously partner and head of Cushman & Wakefield’s Middle East operations based in Dubai and Bahrain. Prior to that he spent nine years in Hungary and Poland. He now succeeds Patrick O’Gorman, who will return to CBRE’s London office to take up the role in the central London investment team following four years in CEE.
…and Hegedus replaces Kreindl
CBRE has appointed Tomas Hegedus as managing director of its Slovakian business. From 1 February he replaces Joerg Kreindl, who took up a new position as head of office agency and tenant representation for central and Eastern Europe with the firm. Hegedus joined CBRE from office development company PHVH Solutions, where he served as general director since 2004. “We welcome Tomas to the business. His appointment will further strengthen our client service and strong ties with the office development and occupier communities in Slovakia and our market-leading position in this sector,” said Mike Strong, chairman and chief executive of CBRE in the EMEA region.
Promotions at Scottish Widows
Scottish Widows Investment Partnership has promoted the following people from their current position of investment manager to the post of investment director: Ross Braithwaite, Paul Findlay, Veronica Gallo-Alvarez, Kerri Hunter, James McLean and Nick Smith. In their new roles Braithwaite, Findlay and Gallo-Alvarez will join the international real estate investment committee; while Hunter, McLean and Smith will sit on the UK real estate investment committee.
Davies joins BNP Paribas RE
BNP Paribas Real Estate has appointed Gerardine Davies as head of its UK investment management. “We are keen to expand and enhance the UK investment management business through new mandates, products and recruitment,” says Davies. She previously worked at Aegon Asset Management, served as head of retail property funds at Morley Fund Management and worked as senior property investment manager at Hermes and as a fund manager at NIP. “Gerardine is our first senior recruit of 2012 and we are working on a number of others, in line with our strategy to expand profitable areas of the business,” says Mark England, BNP Paribas RE’s chief executive in the UK.
Jüstel to head LBBW Immobilien
Stuttgart-based LBBW Immobilien Development has appointed Steffen Jüstel as managing director. He will be responsible for project development together with chairman Frank Berlepp and Frank Böhme, and will focus on project development in Baden-Württemberg. Jüstel previously worked for Hochtief’s project development division, managing schemes in southern Germany. For the past six years he ran Hochtief’s Stuttgart office.
MD post for Catella’s Andersson
Mats Andersson has been appointed managing director of Catella subsidiary Catella Fondförvaltning as from 19 March. Andersson was previously managing director of Ålandsbanken in Sweden. He takes over as managing director from Stefhan Klang, who switched to focus on sales and business development within the company. During the transition, Catella AB’s CLO, Johan Nordenfalk, has been acting managing director of Catella Fonder.
Weeks to be Cornerstone CEO
Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers has appointed Charles Weeks as its new European chief executive officer. Currently co-head of business development in Europe, he will replace Iain Reid when he retires from Cornerstone Europe in March this year. Weeks and Reid have worked together since 1995 when Reid was the chief executive officer of BZW Property Investment Management. They then worked together at Barclays Property Investors, Aberdeen Property Investors, and more latterly, Protego Real Estate Investors, which they helped to found in April 2004. They then sold Protego Real Estate Investors to Cornerstone Real Estate Advisers in January 2010. Nick Pink now assumes the role of Cornerstone’s chief investment officer; James Salmon remains as COO; Alex Sutherland becomes Cornerstone’s chief financial officer; and Peter de Haas will be head of business development, continental Europe.
C&W appoints Goedecke
Frank Goedecke has joined the Hamburg investment brokerage team at Cushman & Wakefield as a senior consultant where he will look after investors operating in the local region and throughout Germany.
