Wetherspoon case settled

JD Wetherspoon has settled a long-running fraud case against property agent Paul Ferrari.

The pub group will get £50,000 and a property in Sleaford, Lincolnshire, worth £500,000 under the terms of the deal. The news comes as investors await an update on the Wetherspoon’s rollout plans for new pubs with the interim results on Friday. The group is increasingly targeting small commuter and holiday towns away from its traditional high street locations. Its previous indication that it would open 50 pubs this year could change depending on what happens to beer duty in this month’s Budget.
