Immofinanz makes Austrian top five

MIPIM 2012: Immofinanz, one of the five largest listed European property companies, has become the first real estate company to make it into Austria’s ATX stock exchange top five.

During the last five trading days of February, Immofinanze outpaced trading in Telekom Austria shares thereby ousting the telecoms group. The new composition of the index will take effect on 19 March.

Eduard Zehetner, executive board chairman of the property group, which is a dominant player in the central and eastern European development and investment markets, said: “Only one year after inclusion in the ATX, we have now joined the ATX five – which further underscores the importance of our company for the Austrian financial market.”

“This will give us greater visibility and strengthen our position in the leading index – and should also have a positive effect on the share development. The Immofinanz name joins OMV, Erste Group, Voestalpine and Andritz as one of the five largest stocks in Vienna.”

The ATX five is a price index that is weighted by market capitalisation, and comprises the five ATX shares with the highest weighting. The calculation is based on the ATX and takes place in real time. The last change in the composition of the ATX five was made in December 2010.
