Cathedral Group and United House have secured planning for a £42m residential scheme in Deptford south east London.
The London borough of Lewisham has given the go-ahead for The Deptford Project, which will see the development of a 121-home eight-storey bulding next to Deptford train station.
The scheme, in partnership with Lewisham council, also includes the restoration of a Victorian carriage ramp to include creative workshops.
Cathedral chief executive Richard Upton said: “Since we signed our development agreement with Lewisham Council in 2008 we have been working hard on site in Deptford to create a wonderful, vibrant place.
“We are really looking forward to seeing a beautiful new building light up this part of Deptford, bringing much-needed investment into the town.”
United House group chief executive Jeffrey Adams added: “Deptford is one of the capital’s undiscovered gems. Our scheme will be a catalyst for the broader regeneration plans for the area while restoring and preserving important historical elements.”
The Deptford Project is planned to be on site in late 2012 with completion estimated in mid 2014.
