Savills swoops to join CBRE on Heron Tower

Heron International has appointed Savills to replace Cushman & Wakefield on the coveted joint leasing mandate on the Heron Tower, EC2, as revealed by EGi this week.

Following an annual review of its leasing advice, Gerald Ronson’s Heron International has brought in Savills as it embarks on a push to find tenants for the high-rise section of the 461,478 sq ft tower.

The mid-rise section of the Heron Tower is now 80% let, with the marketing of the high-rise aspect – levels 21 to 36 – set to begin in May. The low-rise section (floors 2-7) is available with quoting rents of £57.50.

C&W had been advising Heron on leasing alongside CBRE, which will remain as joint agent. C&W will continue its involvement with the Heron Tower as managing agent.

A source said: “It is a tough leasing market in the City at the moment and the merry-go-round of agents on high-profile developments is often the result of the pressure on landlords to be seen to be doing something.”

Agents were invited to pitch for the leasing contract in February.

Knight Frank and Jones Lang LaSalle were told they could not pitch owing to a potential conflict of interest as a result of their leasing roles on The Shard, SE1.
