LXB Retail Properties has obtained a resolution to grant planning permission for the construction of its 295,000 sq ft Banbury Gateway retail park in Oxfordshire.
The project involves demolishing the exisiting buildings on the site and replacing them with a scheme comprising 10 shops, including a 100,000 sq ft anchor store pre-let to Marks & Spencer, and three restaurants.
LxB hopes to start on site next summer, with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2014.
LXB chief executive Tim Walton said: “We aim to create a destination that will draw shoppers from far afield, as well as increase the number of major retail brands within the town. Both LXB and Prodrive are proud that this partnership is able to contribute towards providing a substantial number of new jobs, particularly during these difficult economic times.”
